Daily Oil Painting 16th Feb 2026

Today's random topic was 'nude'. I did an initial freehand sketch on paper, as sketching on the oil painting paper is not so easy, and then transfered the result to the oil painting paper.

Yesterday I accidently sploged a big bit of Alizuran Crimson on the palatte, so I decided to use that up for this picture, with Cadmium Yellow Light and French Ultramarine. The reference pose was from a photo, and initially I thought a nice big circle behind her might look nice, but after unthinkingly filling it with yellow it obviously looks like the sun, which was not the plan.
